Kayaking Tours
Travel down the Waccamaw River through a classic floodplain forest dominated by bald cypress, water tupelo and isolated strands of rare Atlantic White Cedar. The banks of the Waccamaw are an important travel corridor for the rare Coastal Black Bear, wild turkey, wild boar and deer. On the trip you may see beavers, river otters, the occasional alligator and numerous species of turtles. The bottom land hardwoods are home to Osprey, barred owl, Mississippi kites, Coopers hawk and a multitude of neotropical migratory songbirds. Paddle through the peaceful and wild swamps of the low country and enjoy the solitude and serenity that the last remaining pieces of Heritage Trust land has to offer. Don't forget you camera for photo opportunities abound!
Our Waites Island trip offers a unique opportunity for shelling, swimming, and sunbathing on a beach that is inaccessible except by boat and the expertise that only an experienced guide can offer. Kayak through the many creeks that lead to the island past oyster reefs and dam banks accompanied by a myriad of sea birds and catch a glimpse of the occasional dolphin as they chase bait through the salt creeks.
